MEET SARAH

My name is Sarah Sprague Gerber, CFP®, AFC® and I was you just a few years ago. I had never taken a personal finance class when I graduated from college. After graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical-Biological Engineering and Biology, I quickly discovered I needed to take control of my own personal finances (student loans, anyone?!) and realized that others also needed help determining the right financial life track.

Driven to learn more, I first researched information from books and articles online before finding and completing the UC Berkeley Extension Certificate Program in Personal Financial Planning in 2018. I also worked virtually for another fee-only firm for two years, passed the CFP® exam, and am now a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

I have also worked in program and product management in the tech world for a decade. Bringing both my personal finance and product expertise to the profession, I inspire DIY early career professionals and couples to get started right with their finances early in their careers before they’ve built up the money for a traditional financial planner. I’m passionate about breaking down barriers to ensure everyone has access to financial education resources and aim to transform money from a tough topic into a strong foundation for all.

I live outside Denver, Colorado with my husband Justin and daughters Evelyn and Corinne — and also love running, reading, and rock climbing!
